Love Yourself in the Process

·

Psalms 138:8 NLT: “The LORD will work out his plans for my life – for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”

Not only does God give you purpose, but He will work out those purposes. They are His purposes and He does the work to fulfill them.

We need to be patient with how long God’s work takes and where we are in the process. We are a “work in process” and if we can’t love ourselves where we are at in that process, we have a problem with God’s schedule.

If we can’t love ourselves as a work in process, how can we love our neighbor as ourselves, as God commands? "Jesus replied, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’" (Matthew 22:37-39 NLT).
