Matthew 6:28-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life…your Heavenly Father knows what you need… seek first His Kingdom...do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Worry can be more of a battle for some than others. This passage gives us the following important weapons to help you fight against any worry that may come knocking at our souls:
1. Don’t imagine all the worrisome potential of tomorrow and how God may or may not provide, rather focus on and list the ways He has provided for you today.
2. Seek Him first before trying to fix it yourself. (“…Seek first his kingdom…”) Do this by spending time in prayer and His Word before making your decisions.
3. See problems as opportunities for God to show Himself the faithful Father in your lives. (“…your Heavenly Father knows you need them…)
Whenever worry begins knocking, pull out the weapons God gives you from His Word to help you fight back. This season in life gives the occasion to practice Biblical warfare against the temptation of worry. And practice WILL make you proficient so don’t give up!
