What are you Thristing for?

·

Hebrews 10:25 “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

It has been over a hundred years since churches around the world have made the decision not to meet because of mass illness.

The Rev. Francis Gremke of Washington, D.C. preached a sermon to his people during the devastating Spanish Flu that swept the US those many years ago. In thinking about not having the ability to gather at his church on a Sunday, he made these observations: “Another thing has impressed me during this epidemic. It has brought out in a way that is very gratifying, the high estimation in which the Christian church is held in the community; the large place which it really occupies in the thought of the people. The fact that for several weeks we have been shut out from the privileges of the sanctuary has brought home to us as never before what the church has really meant to us.”

Our assembling together can never be recreated online. It’s just not the same. Although our church will continue to feed you spiritually through our online platforms, the longing we all have as Christians to gather and stand united is a glorious thing. We all are thirsting for things to go back to “normal.” That said, do you thirst to worship together again? Are you longing for the day we can gather again as God’s people and dine together at His table? Let’s thirst for those wonderful blessings that the local church provides through the power of Christ himself.  Be encouraged.
