No One Has Ever Seen God

1 John 4:11-12: “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us his Spirit” (1 John 4:11-12).

"No one has ever seen God." This statement causes many to doubt the existence of God. But it is in the Bible, so how can we argue with that?

God has revealed himself through creation (Romans 1:20), through the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:18, Hebrews 1:1-4), and through the Bible (2 Peter 1:20-21). But, still, nobody has seen God.

This is because God has chosen to reveal himself through us. God wants us to show the world the God that is living in us. John says that if we love one another then His love is made complete in us. Does that mean that God's love is incomplete if we do not love? It sounds weird to say, but I think so. It sounds as though God could show people his complete love without us, but he chooses to use us. In other words, no one has ever seen God, but they will if you love. So, we can help people see God and experience the completeness of His love.
